Living your best life begins by unleashing the points of power within
From the Page to Practice
The provision of Lived Experience Support Services represents an emerging initiative of Flyte Time Publications.
The support services will extend the reach of the message of the Life Change Series by helping individuals recover from disruptive life events through the Power of Choice, Lived Experience, and Reflective Insight.
Improving support for young adults aging out of foster care by extending the insights of the Life Change Series beyond the written page is currently being developed.
The primary areas of support will include life skills development, goal planning, career exploration and job readiness, and systems navigation support.
These services will be grounded in evidence-based, trauma informed practices —where lived experience, personal reflection, agency, choice, and practical wisdom intersect to bring about meaningful and sustainable life change.
These services will also draw upon the eight dimensions of wellness, which encourges us to embrace the idea that our well-being is shaped by the intersecting parts of our lives—which includes our emotional, physical, social, spiritual, intellectual, occupational, environmental, and financial well-being.
This idea is visually conveyed by the “Tree of Wellness” created by Freddy Vale.
Core Areas of Support
The support services will focus on building blocks related to:
Personal Development
One-on-One conversations and goal setting activities will be offered to help individuals reflect on their experiences, clarify priorities, and identify meaningful next steps. This work will focus on strengthening self-awareness and creating direction for personal growth.
Practical Life Skills
Life skills development and career exploration activities will be designed to meet individuals where they are and build the confidence for navigating everyday life and securing employment. The practical skills support offered will empower individuals to translate their goals into purposeful action.
Self-Determination and Advocacy
Systems navigation support will consists of providing individuals with information to gain access to educational, housing, employment, and community resources to support their goals.
These services are currently in development and a work in progress, with programming expected to launch in Summer 2027.
