Each One, Teach One

“When we open up and share our stories of heartbreak, grief, and loss, we help others feel less alone.

We help each other do the deep work of processing our trauma and moving forward.

Each of us can be teachers in our own ways by sharing experiences. Our words can help heal others.”

Maria Shriver

This space is dedicated to readers who want to connect, grow, and support one another through the sharing of book titles that have the potential to uplift, encourage, and inspire others.

I believe the right book can meet us exactly where we are.

I’m going to set things off by sharing a curated collection of books that supported my growth over the years.

The "transformative" titles are included in the Community Connection Book Library to explore at your own pace.

This collection is not static—it’s a living library.

 Starting a Reading Circle

Books have long served as gateways to knowledge, imagination, and understanding. Yet beyond the act of reading itself lies another powerful dimension: conversation. When readers come together to explore ideas, share perspectives, and reflect on the meaning of what they have encountered, books become catalysts for dialogue that can lead to deeper insight and personal growth.

A “Reading Circle” is a great way to share insights, ask questions, and find encouragement as you journey through books. From The Page To Practice offers a simple guide to forming a reading circle or book club.

  1. Gather Your Circle:
Invite friends, family, colleagues, or fellow readers who are interested in personal growth and meaningful discussion. Groups of 4–10 members work best for rich conversation.

  2. Set a Schedule:
Decide how often you’ll meet—weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly—and whether your meetings will be in-person or virtual. Consistency helps keep everyone engaged.

  3. Read Together:
Assign chapters or sections of Chiseled by Choices to read before each meeting. Encourage members to jot down thoughts or favorite passages to share.

  4. Discuss and Reflect:
Use the book’s reflection questions as conversation starters. Create a supportive, judgment-free space where everyone feels comfortable sharing.

  5. Empower Each Other:
Celebrate small victories, offer encouragement, and hold each other accountable for growth and healing. Consider journaling or sharing personal progress between meetings.

  6. Stay Connected:
Use group chats or email threads to keep in touch, share resources, and inspire each other throughout your journey.
